Chu offers better quality ingredients in smaller portions, far preferable to offer the fat cheap slop most EBay Chinese places. Excellent dumplings do not miss the oxtail dumplings when you find these hard meat. Gan Shao lamb, beef with silken tofu, and Buddha vegetables are excellent. Dan My, Crab Sauce Prawns and Hot/Sour Soup are very good oldho Chu adds edamame soybeans to these dishes, sometimes too many. But the dishes are still delicious, especially the hot/sour, which is an excellent version. Teas are very high quality and excellent; Service is top notch and restaurant is blessed quiet.
We were very dissapin in our experience that is too bad because we had very good experiences in the past. Getting food was very slow, the duck with buns took forever to get, and when it came, the duck was cut into large bone pieces and since the buns are so small, there is no way that this works. Why don't they take the meat from the bones? We ordered the damped fish and couldn't eat it. The smell was very fishy. It was definitely not fresh and should never have been served. When we ordered our food, the restaurant was not very full and we waited and waited. I went back to the kitchen and saw that nothing was cooked. We called our server and asked what's going on. He told us they wait for the fish before they start the rest of the meal. Whoever heard of such a thought, the Chinese restaurant. The food comes when it comes. Don't make sense. What a shame. Very good. Fortunately, we live in Oakland and there are many good restaurants to choose from.
It was empty for a Saturday night and it seemed easy as if the restaurant had lost the splendour on the way. No enthusiasm, even if the place was empty. Maybe the sun was in the front? I noticed people looked in, but there was no host to welcome someone. The waiter was nice and the food was good, but it wasn't exciting and I was very excited about amazing Chinese food.
Mixed feelings about eating. Some were well roasted Calamari and the short ribs were both excellent. The garlic noodles and garlic sprinklers might have cleaned something, but we're okay. The lamb cubes were as tough as shoe leather and the tuna tarts were mushy and tasteless. The Drab cracker was used to add nothing but more blazing. Service was a plus
I am never disappointed when I come here. Everyone is so awesome here. The Dan Dan noodles are the best!!
