I ordered the Shrimp and grits which were cooked to perfection. The shrimp were quite flavorful. My daughterordered the Shrimp over Mediterranean rice. The shrimp wasn't as flavorful as the ones on the grits. My son ordered the spicedchicken fillet with the potatoes. The chicken was ok but the potatoes were excellent. My wife had a tasty chicken sandwich ???????? that was juicy and flavorful. Overall good experience. I would recommend this place. ? ? ? ? and a quarter star for me.
Got seated without a wait at 8pm on a Saturday. Excellent tables by the window to people watch both inside and on the street. Everything was delicious. Goat cheese plate was beautifully balanced. Patatas bravas were definitely a 2 serving plate. Drinkswere strong but nuanced. Definitely coming back.
Update every time I come here, I think 'why am I not here more often '? The cocktails are SO inventive and fresh. Food is delicious, regardless of what we order. And despite crowded brunch hour, seems like there 's always a couple of seats to slideinto at the bar, where the service is phenomenal. Thank you! Delightful. Super friendly service. Nice cocktails. We sat onthe patio and ordered a few small plates. Breakfast potatoes and the sauces were especially yummy.
Shakewell is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. The restaurant has phenomenal vibes, insane cocktails and unbelievable fried chicken. Bring your appetite when you go because you won't want to miss out on the croquettes orolives. When you're ready for the main, the fried chicken will rock your world. It's a heaping portion, accompanied by adelightful yogurt sauce. They also have a churros and chicken combo that I'm 100% getting next time. I had the churros fordessert. They were light and fluffy, doused in cinnamon sugar and served with a decadent chocolate sauce. You've gotta checkout Shakewell.
We were a little disappointed about the quality of the food: salad was way overdressed, lamb and beef kefta were tough, za'tar flatbread was just like pita, and bacalao croquetas were bland...and we each only had one drink (a glass of wine/beer) and it cost with tip. I understand the need to raise prices to pay workers a fair wage, but this was a little ridiculous. Won't be going back.
