New to the peninsula and their Beachcomber is awesome!
We were in Ocean Park for the weekend and decided we wanted pizza for dinner. Streetside Pizza was within walking distance and other reviews seemed positive so we decided to give it a try. Called them but nobody picked up. We thought dang, probably closed down due to COVID.. But we didn 't feel like driving down to Long Beach, and we thought maybe the listed phone was just wrong or maybe they were too busy to pick up. So we just hoofed it over there to see if they were actually open, and they were! Hurray! This restaurant is actually more of a food cart with ovens in a separate building behind the cart. Don 't let that turn you off though. The reason they didn 't pick up the phone was they were super busy and only had two people to man the shop. But they were friendly and we got our order in. The lady who took our order said it would be about half an hour, and she could call us when they put our pizza in the oven, and it would be ready 15 minutes after that. We decided to just wander around the nearby Thriftway while we waited. Sure enough, she called when the pizza was going in, and we headed back. 15 minutes after her call, our pizza was ready and she brought it out to us. We got the Dave 's Fave and it was pretty darn good! Traditional crust, PLENTY of toppings, and well baked. The only downside was that the pizza was a bit on the spendy side at $20 for a 12-inch Medium size, but for two people (who aren 't ravenous teenagers) it was plenty. I 'm not going to complain about the price too much as prices are going up everywhere with high inflation and Long Beach peninsula is a bit pricier in general to begin with. Overall, a thumbs up! I 'm glad to have found a good pizza joint in Ocean Park. We will return.
The pizza is great, employees are friendly. I highly recommend Streetside pizza!
Pizza was good and tasted fresh. A little too doughy than what we like. Little odd how they do the pickup process but what surprised us was the price! $40 for a pizza is a little steep for Ocean Park.
