Have driven by this place many times and decided to stop by to make sure I wasn 't missing something great FOMO . Four stars on Yelp. Ordered a #3 chicken combo 2 pieces with rice beans, and the 3 mini carne asada tacos with rice beans with an upcharge for carne asada . Carne Asada meat has excellent flavor! Charbroiled chicken was good...a bit small in size. Beans and rice were a bit bland but not bad. Red hot salsa was hands-down the best part of the meal. Prices are a bit high. The total was $20.78, but you can get an 8-piece chicken family meal at El Pollo Loco for $24, which includes two large sides. So for $3 more dollars you get 6 bigger pieces of chicken and more beans rice. Service was good, although as I was taking pictures of the inside of the restaurant, the owner ? said No photos . That 's a bit odd... It 's not the Sistine Chapel, or a Kevin Hart concert. It 's just chicken. Would I come back? The salsa is quite excellent...which is a big deal. So many places have bland salsa. The red hot salsa packs some heat. The carne asada meat was also quite good by itself. Didn 't need salsa or extra seasoning. They also fry the taco tortilla a bit which is interesting...makes it a little tougher to chew but not terrible. I 'd come back for tacos, maybe burritos and definitely the salsa...
