What I did discover was that Kim provided an unforgettable experience with her excellent service and by recommending the best pork chop I've ever tasted. Imagine a pork chop served on a bed of bacon cheddar grits, topped with shrimp—simply incredible! And as a delightful finishing touch, a fried egg completed the dish, making it a meal that deserved high-fives all around. My kids thoroughly enjoyed the bacon mac and cheese, while my partner, Sarah, was very pleased with her outstanding chicken dish. I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious watermelon-infused cocktail, and the beer selection was top-notch. Thank you, Kim, for the wonderful service, and a big shoutout to the owner for keeping our kids entertained with trivia (can you guess which three animals start with the letter N?). Huge thanks from your new friends and fans from Oregon!
I ordered the pancetta pasta of the day, and it was cooked to perfection. The flavors were wonderfully balanced—overall, it was just an excellent dish. It was so good that I'm planning to try making it at home this weekend to avoid the four-hour drive just to enjoy it again! The kids had burgers, and their fries were delicious as well. Typically, children's meals at restaurants can be disappointing, but these fries were perfectly crispy with a hint of sourness that I think was lemon. They provided a delightful mix of salty, sour, and sweet (especially if you dip them in ketchup), along with a crunchy exterior and a soft inside. Overall, our dining experience was fantastic, and if we're ever back in the area, I will definitely return!
We discovered this restaurant in Oceanside while on vacation, and it exceeded our expectations! As a foodie, with my brother being a chef and our kids having refined tastes, I can confidently say we were impressed. The service for our group of ten was exceptional, accommodating even the little ones. The food was outstanding—made from scratch, locally sourced, and cooked to perfection! We can’t wait to return. The ribeye steak, cheesy grits, bacon mac and cheese, mussels, and goat cheese appetizer were all incredible—everything was delicious! The owner was fantastic and even recommended some nearby nightlife options. I highly recommend this place!
Every time we go here it’s better-and we are vegetarian! The kitchen always makes us a killer meal according to what we like, and they love the challenge because they are real, talented chefs who like to get creative. The chef lately at the oside location is especially great and inspired! Love the place, love that they care about their staff, love that they use local farms to source their food. The owners are great people too-can’t say enough good things about The Pig!
Excellent food and service. Started at 4:30 for happy hour and ended up having dinner there with their signature pork chop and home made Pesto dish with ground pork. Their Grits with cheese and bacon is amazing as well as the Octopus. Happy hour draft is San Diego local brews. Delicious! We will be going back again!
