The pub section is decent, with good SSB and Guinness options, but that's where the positives end. The food is terrible - you're better off just getting a bag of chips. I ordered the "Crispy Hen" burger and it seemed like it had never even been cooked. As I mentioned before, the food is just downright awful and incredibly low quality for the price.
We had dinner with friends at this restaurant. I checked out the menu online beforehand and noticed the extensive selection, which made me wonder how they could prepare so many different dishes. There were also many dishes with sweet bourbon BBQ sauce, which usually isn't a good sign. Thinking that the steak and mashed potatoes would be a safe choice, I ordered that assuming the fries would be frozen, which they were. The steak was decent, but the pepper sauce was like gravy with strange bits in it. Others at the table had frozen empanadas and cold mussels, which had to be reheated or canceled. The chicken burger came out late. Two people had green curry, which was okay. The wait staff were attentive but seemed frustrated with the food they had to serve. They offered free drinks, but we declined. The prices for drinks were reasonable, but they weren't as good as we expected. Overall, the food was mostly disappointing and there was no discount offered. Not sure why.
This restaurant has closed and have moved to Riverton and is now Riverton Bar and Bistro. The restaurant is currently American styled food and is known as Barrelhouse Saloon and Eatery.
The food at this restaurant was average overall, with a few dishes being disappointing. The rice was overcooked and had a stodgy texture. The menu was very expensive. The staff were all friendly, but the manager was extremely rude and arrogant. He spoke to us disrespectfully when we provided feedback on our meals, leading us to never want to return or recommend this establishment to our loved ones. This man does not deserve to have customers at his restaurant. Avoid at all costs!
We've been frequenting the Roxby for many years and heard it was relocating, so decided on a nostalgia visit with our young adults and their partners. Everyone, must have had the same idea as the place when we arrived at 7.30pm was buzzing and a couple requesting a table were turned away. Our table was ready and we were expecting a wait due to it being so busy, however, after 25 mins, no one had been to take even a drinks order. We called a member of staff over who couldn't help us as they were just clearing tables but did get someone to come and take our order. The chicken satay sticks are always a hit and never disappoint, the spring rolls were piping hot on the outside and very cool on the inside and the mains were flavoursome. We decided on 3 shared desserts by this time only about a 1/4 of table were occupied and staff were standing around, but for the 2nd time we had to ask someone for dessert menu's and then find someone to come and take our order. Whilst the wait at the start of the evening was acceptable, when most of the tables had emptied, it wasn't. Most establishments have their wait staff cover set tables/sections that doesn't seem to be the case at Roxby as we had at least 3 different people take food or drinks orders. Price wise: $300 for 6 people, 4 shared starters, 6 mains, 4 rice, 3 desserts, bottle of wine, 2 beers and 3 non alcoholic drinks.
