Great restaurant that specializes in Maine lobster. The large, open dining room in comfortable and has mostly 4-person tables and some 8-person tables. Due to the open floorplan, it can get a little loud. They currently open at 4:30PM each day and, eventhough they have a lot if seats, it fills up quickly. There was a wait by 5:30PM on a Wednesday night in mid-August. You get tochoose which lobster you want from their large live-tank. The staff is friendly and attentive.
This place is good if you are going for lobster and that?s it. The burgers taste like frozen meat and burnt at the same time. They also do not have fries they have potato chips which do not taste house-made they taste like ruffles. Staff is nice though. So in conclusion only go there is you are planing on getting lobster.
I hadn?t been to Maine in 25 years. Walking back into this place brought me back. They have preserved the timeless and classic set up, keeping the quality of food and service at the top. Lobster bisque was incredibly creamy and flavorful. Lobster andlobster roll as well as sides were perfect. You cannot compete with the olp. No where is better
We decided to stop in Ogunquit on our way back home from a road trip to check out the town and to have dinner. PROS: Very busy, but did get seating almost right away, waitress was nice, clam chowder was good and the mixed drink was good.....but entreewise, maybe we should have just stuck to the steamed lobster! CONS: ordered a cheeseburger (for my 11 year old) asked for medium and that came out cooked well done. Another entree was baked Haddock with a Ritz Cracker topping, the topping wassoggy...no crunchiness to it and it made bites with it have a sweet flavor (I know, this would be personal preference). Iordered the lobster roll (which I've ordered damn near everyday...in Provincetown MA, Bar Harbor ME and now Ogunquit). I likethe classic style, but this was caked with mayo. You didn't taste any celery, or much of the lobster, all you tasted was mayo. The outside of the roll itself was very crunchy, while the inside was very soggy because of all the mayo. The sides it came withwas coleslaw (good) and potato chips. Unfortunately for $38, I got a mayo roll, coleslaw and bagged chips.
