Fabulous food and coffee. When the owner said it was Fairtrade coffee I was sceptical; this is usually a euphemism for poor to rubbish. Boy was I wrong; it was divine! He chooses his coffee and suppliers with great care and it shows. Also, the croissants were easily as good as anything I have eaten in France or Belgium. I cannot recommend this place too highly but, if going there, be aware that there are three coffee places in a row, so choose carefully.
I look forward to the days when I have a job in town, so I can stop here for my morning coffee and pain au chocolat. Latte and Mocha have both been very good, haven’t had any to complain about. Pastries are always nice, sometimes a little buttery but pleasant nonetheless. I’ve also had the poached egg breakfast baguette, which was good but I think they used store bought hollandaise which was disappointing, but the bacon and egg roll was nice. The morning specials of coffee and pastry or coffee and b&e roll are a major bonus. Just wish they opened at 6:30 instead of 7 so I could visit more often.
Just walked by the place on a Sunday and saw piles of good looking bread and a little crowd huddled around it. They were offering a mushroom soup and a pea and mint one. I opted for the pea and mint one that came with some fresh bread and both were awesome. Would definitely frequent this place if i lived there.
The breads and pastry choice is top notch. Really liked the unusual items like strawberry muffins. Coffee is well made and tasty
