Lakeside Cookhouse Pub - Oldbury

We had a wonderful Christmas dinner yesterday! Upon our arrival, the table was beautifully set with decorations, crackers, party poppers, and Christmas hats. Everyone we interacted with greeted us with “Merry Christmas,” which made our experience feel truly special. The food was plentiful and of really good quality. Our waitress, Jess, was amazing! She was friendly, polite, and great with our children, engaging them in fun ways. A big thank you to the cookhouse and especially to Jess. Merry Christmas to all of you!

We ordered our meals and waited, enjoying our drinks until the food arrived. Unfortunately, my husband's dish did not meet his expectations. He had ordered the cauliflower steak with a magic potato, seasonal vegetables, and gravy. The magic potato was quite rubbery, and the cauliflower steak was overcooked, with a rubbery bake that left much to be desired. Hayden was very apologetic and promised to speak with the chef and to remove the cost of the meal from our bill, which we appreciated. It was unfortunate because the rest of our meals were very enjoyable, but it was a pity my husband was disappointed.

The pub is wonderful, with great food and incredibly dedicated and helpful staff. I highly recommend it to everyone; it's suitable for all. I will definitely return!

5 of us Had a meal here 4th feb very nice in side friendly and helpful staff food was great the toed in the hole needed more gravy but apart from that it was great I like the lay out nice private areas
