Update!!! This is no longer open! I am very please with the food and the service. The Smokey Valley burger is awesome and has never let me down. Only way to make it better is for it to be closer to Morehead.

This place was supposedly great, but we came in and realized there's indoor smoking so the whole place smelled like smoke. Our group ordered a wide variety of dishes and it all seemed like cafeteria quality.

Every time we get to Olive Hill, (about 4 times a year Smokey Valley Truck Stop is our destination. Good solid basic home cooked meals. Hamburgers are good, although I usually go for the Catfish, Turnip Greens, Soup Beans and Cornbread. Yah, it's that kind of place. We've never been disappointed, the place isn't real pretty, in fact it's pretty basic. But the hospitality is excellent, the Pies for Dessert are as good as you will find anywhere, and the food reasonably priced and worth what you pay. : .

Went to get something to eat on a Saturday afternoon and it only took an hour to get our food. The Smokey Valley burgers that we ordered were a disappointment. Our fries were cold and the burgers tasted kinda bland. The wait staff was excellent. On the whole the experience seemed to be a waste of time. I cannot recommend this place unless the quality of the food changes.

One of the best home cooked meals I have had at a moma and pop dinner. Will stop by every chance I get when driving in this area.
