Crazy Spice - Otaru

The biggest problem about this place is it's popularity at lunch time... it's tough to get in and out within an hour... Both the soup curry and the Indian style curries are excellent...with the garlic Nan deserving special mention...killer. So, too, the 13veggie soup curry... literally a spoonful of well turned out veg on every bite. Lately it seems many soup curry joints are skimping on portions...but not here.

Soup curry is one of the must eat when one is in Hokkaido. We followed the mass majority's recommendation and ended up here! I had the pork soup curry and the pork was cooked to perfection! Soft and it literally melts in your mouth. Highly recommended!

Excellent soup curry and nan. It was nice to be able to choose your spiciness level and type of broth. They have a extensive list of toppings. The chai tea was the cherry on top to an excellent meal.

I can’t speak to how authentic the soup curry is to the Hokkaido taste, but it’s delicious regardless. The levels of spice range from mild to insane (a 10 on the 1-40 scale was enough to make me feel it but not regret it, and I enjoy spicy food) and the ability to tailor the broth and toppings is nice. Also had Nepalese fare. Definitely worth wandering a bit off the tourist track to try, especially if the weather is cold.

Awesome soup curry place. Vegetables in the soup is surprisingly yummy. Spiciness level can be customised. Curry chicken drumstick so good!
