I agreed with the previous yelper... this place is truly a gem in terms of food quality! We were on our way out after a day of fishing. We figured Mike's place would be used to stinky customers like us and they'd have a good parking area to accommodate vehicle and boat trailer. I was glad the place had good ac cuz it was so hot. The bar was full with all the golfers wanting to cool down from the heat so we opted to sit in the quieter dining area. I was impressed by how big the dining area was to accommodate lots of hungry people considering the size of this town. There was only one waitress and an assistant so we tried to be patient. My husband had the cheeseburger and fries. I had their lunch fish and chips and gizzards and a side. The only other place I go to in western wa that serves gizzard was Ezell's fried chicken so I was impressed to find it here in Othello. Had to get it..An impressive large plate and a side for $10. I got fish and chips cuz I believe I read on a review someone said it's the best in Washington state! It's so true... the very best in the U.S.! It tastes like fresh fish...super thick, moist, flaky encased in golden seasoned beer batter. At other places, I never have left overs. Their one piece is equivalent to two pieces and you get two mondo pieces (see pic)... I love that you get a huge selection of sides to choose from. My husband got just a cheeseburger and crinkle cut fries. It had a good seasoned grill flavor and he loved it too. The gizzards was perfectly fried. The waitress was busy but super sweet and friendly. I had the Manny's IPA as recommended. Love! This place is like a man's cave with hunting, fishing, Harley Davidson decor all over but it's still a family friendly environment with a separate dining area... there were lots of men at the bar having a good time on a hot spring day having beer and enjoying good food. I would definitely return for more yumminess!
The atmosphere was casual shorts and sandals fit right in. My wife had the fish and chips nice large portions took some back to the 5th wheel next door. She commented about the flavor of the breading being wonderful. The French fries were nicely browned and hot. I had a bacon burger with fries, the meat had a wonderful charbroiled flavor. The service was good although not busy at all.
Not a bad little place at all! My husband and I came here with his great-aunt and great-uncle who live very nearby. It's got a definite divey vibe to it, with vintage posters and animal heads on the wall (so if you're uncomfortable with hunting, this is probably not the place for you . The owner was working and stopped to say hi to our relatives, who he knows as regulars since they come here frequently. Our server was nice and pretty quick, contrary to some other reviews (maybe we just got lucky? . It was only about 11:30am, so I opted for a brunch meal instead of lunch. I ordered an omelet (the veggie omelet and it, the hash browns, and the toast came out piping hot and delicious. My husband ordered the turkey, bacon, cheese sandwich; I didn't taste it, but it looked decent. Overall, it's your pretty standard divey, diner-y sort of place, but not bad at all!
Went here for lunch last Friday! Had the Fish and Chips, pieces were huge, batter was really really salty but the fish was yummy! The beer was cold!!! The place is cute inside and the service was excellent! One of the only restaurants around for miles. We will be back!
Ate here tonight not good. I have eaten here before and really enjoyed it but tonight I swear the sirloin steak was simply heated in a microwave. Zero seasoning and had that just heated in a microwave chemically taste to it. Had to dip it in ketchup just to cover the taste. Fries were good. Salad was good. But man that piece of meat was horrible.
