I told my server, Jane, that the brisket just may be as good as any I've eaten and that includes places in Austin, Kansas City, Memphis, Charlotte and of course here in Nashville. It was tender and mouth watering delicious. I give it 5 stars. (Good choice for your class reunion, Bill Freer).
Ive been coming to Old Hickory since 1983. When I come back to Owensboro to visit, Old Hickory is top of my list of places to eat. The chopped mutton is hands down the best. Its a special place.
Old Hickory turns 100 this year. It is the definition of Kentucky BBQ. It smells just as good as it tastes. Pork Ribs, Mutton, Burgoo, Baked Beans, and Cobblers a la mode are a must. Take a jar of sauce home for your kitchen.
I lived in Owensboro most of my life until we moved to North Carolina in 1989. And NC has no idea what real barbecue is!! I go to Old Hickory every time I am back in Owensboro. It is the best! I spent many years going to the old one on Washington as I lived at 25th and Frederica. I sure so miss the best barbecue in the world!!
Old Hickory turns 100 this year in 2018. So I went there to eat for my 62nd. birthday with my husband. The Saint Louis style ribs were awesome!! This was a very good meal for an old (now retired lady). They don’t offer you any birthday dessert, but I would of had to take it home, if they had. This was a very good meal. Thank’s Old Hickoryand Happy 100th, birthday to you
