Holland Barrett Golden Cross - Oxford

Fairly standard holland and barrett store, with a mix of food and food supplements. for vegans there is a good selection of snackbars, especially energy bars, many of which are raw, as well as vegan burgers, sausages, cheese and ice cream. the whole chain has often good offers as buy one for a penny, and there are also good offers for those with faithful cards.

This location of Holland and Barrett is smaller than the larger store on Queen Street, but it still boasts a wide selection of vitamins, teas, and snacks. The prices are competitive, and they occasionally have penny sales, which is a nice bonus.

This place is utterly overwhelming. I had three different staff members telling me about a "buy one, get the second half price" deal, but all I wanted was to buy one item. It felt like I was being punished for that. The tofu options are far superior at larger Sainsbury’s or Asian supermarkets, which is quite disappointing. With so many items marked as on special offer, it gives off a gimmicky vibe. The branding feels very American and outdated, which adds to the frustration.
