She was kind and checked in on us multiple times, asking what we would like next when we were down to the last sip. We will be back here because of Debra's excellent customer service!
Beautiful hotel and atmosphere but the food at prices they offer are not on Parr. We were excited to try the chicken confit and the brased pork, but were very disappointed to find a very dwindled down menu. We were told they hadn't had any of that stuff for like 5 years. From reviews and menu photos from just 9 months and 1 year ago those items were indeed still on the menu. Right then I wanted to leave. However, we decided to stay and try other things, plus we were starving. Our drinks were great! Local cranberry juice mixed with simple syrup, The bees knees, very yummy. We ordered 2 burgers, the wings, mac and cheese with pork belly and a blue cheese salad. The chicken wings tasted old, the meat was dry and 0 flavor, totaly inedible. The Mac and cheese was ok, but the pork belly also tasted old and dry. Definitely not worth $24. My husband was barely able to get through his Burger. My son said his plain burger was good but the frys were not. He is 8 and usually loves all fries! The blue cheese salad was the best thing on the table. $144 later we left very disappointed. Every year we visit Long Beach for the summer and the pickled fish is our favorite spot. This venture needs some love! It seems to be the forgotten step child of the Adrift family.
One of my all time favorite spots around town. The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else on the peninsula. Shelburne is beautiful inside and out, a quiet, intimate setting with just the right amount of class that doesnt make you feel out of place dressed casually. The garden is beautiful, I could easily lose an afternoon enjoying the view with a drink on my own or with a friend. If you're visiting the peninsula this is a spot you dont want to miss.
The food was ok, the staff was friendly, and the ambiance was great. We had buffalo fried oysters, steak frites, fish and chips, and the sicilian martini. The buffalo fried oysters were probably the best dish we had. The steak was under seasoned and a bit overcooked. The fries were just ok. The fish in the fish and chips was great, great breading, flaky fish, and a really large sized portion. The sicilian martini was delightful.
Food was really sad. Hamburgers -asked for Medium, served Well done, (had to have remade) small patty in middle of large bun, only toppings were Arugula and pickles. Rockfish was so so, fries overcooked and soggy. I asked for polenta instead of fries, worst polenta I've ever tasted, couldn't eat it. We were done eating by the time our friends burgers were remade. Waitress was okay, I felt bad for her that she had to serve such low quality food. This is the second time we've eaten at Shelburne, both times very disappointing.
