Walking into Terrain is quite the pleasant experience! The ambiance and decor gives you an earthy feeling with a touch of luxury. Once you're seated, you're attended to quickly and they bring the most delicious bread that's been baked in a terracotta type pot. The scallion butter intensifies the taste of the bread and I would visit this place again just to taste the mix. Though the menu choices are quite limited (only reason for the 4-star rating), menu items are delicious and wholesome as they use ingredients from local farms. The sweet drop pepper on the salmon toast was the perfect combo and accompanied the mushroom soup well. Though Terrain has ample seating, it is not a noisy place unlike other around the mall restaurants. They also have a bar and a large wine menu. Highly recommend!
I always walk by here when I'm at the mall, and it's usually pretty packed that I end up going to a different restaurant. But not today! They have a pretty good selection of food for lunchtime. I had a cup of mocha and ordered the chicken. the chicken was cooked to a crisp but still juicy inside. Planning to come back soon for the French toast and cheeseboard !
Beautiful decor and friendly service. Ingredients are fresh and food is both well prepared and well presented. I loved the bread (pan brioche style), and while I enjoyed both the frittata and the stracciatella sandwich, I felt they were incredibly bad value for money. While I'm happy to pay $15 for sandwich chips, I would expect to at least be able to taste the stracciatella, but the layer was so thin that I could only taste the salad leaves and the honey. Potentially a very good place, one I could fall in love with, but I'm afraid they could do much better.
Love the decor and high ceilings! Not a lot of seatings, crowded on weekends. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The salad, burgers, and fritatta were okay, not bad, but not a lot in volume, therefore, with the high prices, CP was not very high. But, it is in Stanford mall, expensive area!
