There is always plenty of variety and enough food to go back for seconds. The desserts were fantastic. However, the drink selection is limited. The restaurant could use some improvement, especially being close to the Boliver sewer works. This place used to be very popular before stricter drink driving laws were implemented. It has multiple floors, some of which are not in use. Despite the drawbacks, we would still return for the affordable drinks and meals.
Unfortunately, the service was slow and disorganized. Some meals were delivered late, with one couple receiving their main course before their entrée. Their steak was full of fat and gristle and had to be sent back. Although replacement meals were eventually brought out, two of our meals were missing for a long time. After a second reminder, our meals finally arrived 72 minutes after ordering. The quality of the food was mediocre at best. The schnitzel was overcooked, and the roast beef was tough and rubbery, resulting in most of it being left uneaten. The timing of the meal service was also poor, with dishes being brought out over a 25-minute time span instead of all at once. Overall, the experience at the restaurant at Globe Derby was disappointing. The kitchen seemed unable to handle a moderate number of patrons, and the slow service detracted from our enjoyment of the evening. We will not be returning to this establishment.
We went out for a night to enjoy dinner and watch the Trotts at Globe Derby. Unfortunately, the Trotts seem to be declining slowly, possibly due to changes at the venue. We opted for the buffet and chose to sit by the window for a nice view on the chilly evening. The buffet was decent, but the cold meat and salad options were limited. The fish was disappointing, but the prawns were tasty. The hot food selection was satisfactory, and they also had a good variety of cakes and cheese. However, considering the number of diners, the spread was not enough. Overall, the venue could benefit from updates and better marketing to attract more visitors for a pleasant evening at the Trotts.
We had been to the Paceway Restaurant on two other occasions in mid 2014 and were pleasantly surprised with the quality & selection of food available in the buffet. We went again on 17th Jan 2014 expecting similar, however it was absolutely Disgusting. There was a very poor selection of cold over cooked food. The roast were cold & tough, vegetables were cold. Calamari was raw, the desserts were frozen. All of the food was dreadful. The service was poor, we had to ask the waitress to clear our plates more than once, she did reluctantly screwing up her face. We spoke to other diners who all agreed it was a terrible experience and none of us will return to dine here.
