FOOD QUALITY: 3/5 we ordered: kare kare sauce is okay. Could be a bit better, maybe a little bit more peanut butter taste. Lumpia its reminds me of home. Good ol' lumpia shanghaii Sago't gulaman my fave out of all. Its really good and refreshing AMBIANCE: 4/5 CLEANLINESS: 5/5 WORTH FOR MONEY: 4/5 CUSTOMER SERVICE: 5/5
Food and price- their pork sinigang is superb! Not too sour and not too salty. There is enough meat for 2-3 persons, not enough veggies though. Price of Sinigang is 145 pesos! very affordable, super worth it, best buy! We intended to buy Daing na Bangus but was told bu the waiter it isn’t boneless so we ordered lumpiang shanghai instead. This is the first and last time that we will have this dish from this place. It tastes like extender. All wrapper no meat. so not worth 95 pesos. Even the sauce fell short of expectation. I am not sure if it was just my imagination or their lumpia sauce really has a faint taste of my childhood plastic balloon. Ambience- air-conditioned, clean and well kept . The interiors are really pleasing to the eye . But the foul smell of garbage from outside the establishment seeps in and lingers.
Their Cripsy Binagoongan is very good!!! One of my easy to dine and to go resto here in our place, especially when you want the Lutong Bahay feels.
Lola Idang's had always been an old reliable for quick fixes or heavies when home cooking takes a day off. Not too certain how long they've been cookin' up their kick ass noodle dishes but had certainly maintained its relevance in the midst of tight competition in the area I've had countless visits planned spontaneous making it one of our family's local staples in the neighborhood. Place is perpetually busy be it diners, pick up or delivery so sometimes disappointing that some food choices run out. As the store is usually packed, it's good that they've expanded made their interiors visually refreshing w/ a garden theme improved ventilation. Lola Idang's bread butter had always been their pancit malabon where toppings are fresh plump while the sauce defining its character. Their pancit canton is also formidable w/ generous top ups of seafood, chicken liver veggies. Their Lomi is an upgrade from that of other noodle shops in the district. Soup is rich, heavy seasoned very well to compliment the strings giving that absolute comfort food feel My favorite is their Binagoongan Pork belly columns deep fried to crunchy perfection coated w/ rich shrimp paste bursting w/ flavors angst. When you get your hands around this, be sure to have a 2nd serving of rice ready...trust me I also like their all day breakfast selections Tapa Tocino on garlic rice as well as their version of spring rolls in peanut sauce lumpiang shanghai. The Rellenong Bangus or meat stuffed milkfish crispy pata are also must trys to maximize the indulgence. Again, for optimum indulgence, be ready w/ your extra rice before you engage.
