We came on our first night in Paris and loved the place. Not only my first ever frogs eating experience was amazing but after we finished dinner we hung around the bar a little longer, had a few drinks and witnessed to some live music played by the locals and the staff. Thanks for letting us in and for taking such a good care of us:)
We're visiting Paris to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday, Quatorze Juillet. We've enjoyed Roger many times during past visits and still the frogs legs with garlic and parsley are magnificent as is their steak tartar. For appetizers, we very much enjoyed the rather unique preparation of escargots bourguignon - both excellent. Nice wine list with a few modestly-priced wines. Only complaint was they never replied to a reservation request made through their FaceBook page nor to 2 separate emails I had sent. Not a problem as we were intending to go on a Wednesday evening when the opened, and from prior experience I didn't think a table for 2 would be a problem. After arriving in Paris, I found that I could make a Rez through la fourchette, which was very easy.
I came here with my friend and my auntie that I was staying with and who lives in Paris. We had been talking about frogs legs on our stay, so my auntie booked us a surprise to go to on our last night .We were very excited when we got to the restaurant to try some frog, but quickly lost our appetite with the WORST SERVICE I have ever received. Having worked in restaurants for many years myself I was appalled by our waiter who kept us waiting, and then unbelievably not once, not twice but three times! Dismissed us trying to order. On our first experience of ordering, he cut my auntie off in the middle of speaking to him, to go and run some food. Only to go to do it again as he had something urgent to do. Then when my friend waved at him, he reacted again saying he is busy. After the third time, we had had enough and walked out. He said as we left that hot plates are more important. I'm sorry but if you don't have customers...then there will be no hot plates to serve...If the restaurant had been full I could of understood the stress the waiter was under, but it was not.I watch as he served another table going out of his way to spoon ice into there drinks, pour there drinks and then go on to take a photo for them. But he didn't have time to take our order. Or pour our water, which is the only thing he actually did get for us! Maybe that's what the one star could be for because I honestly wouldn't even give it one if I didn't have too.The worst service, the rudest staff to which I was disgusted to find out is actually the manager of the restaurant. Speechless to be honest. Worst service ever and I can't believe that he was the manager. Would definitely not recommend.
I took the ravioli and the frog burger. It seems unlikely, but it's okay. The small inner courtyard and the general frame is typical of the old bet. Moreover many foreigners come to this restaurant. It's just to do something once to eat frogs. The service is perfect nothing to say.
