My man and I are on our honeymoon, and this is the best meal we had so far. the service was great and we would not have asked better!
Service was a little rocky in the beginning but the food totally made up for it. Trattoria Silvano is located near the hotel we were staying at, literally a 2-minute walking distance. It had the best Italian food on the block! The gnocchi was amazing....Plus they had a deal on Heineken when I walked in, so of course, I'm going to drink that! Cheers to this joint. Loved every single crumb.
We went to this place because it was near where we were staying. When we first entered we had concerns about sitting outside because people would eventually be smoking. After we sat down outside, we decided to change into the restaurant itself because people started...smoking and my son is allergic. Once inside, the owner started yelling at us for moving our table despite the fact the inside of the restaurant was completely empty on a Saturday night. While outside we had nothing to drink and did not touch the table settings so it should not have been an issue. The fact it was completely empty inside on a Saturday night should've told us as to the quality of food that was going to be coming our way. My wife said it was OK to stay because the waitress was nice enough to say that she had no problem with moving tables despite the rude and nasty owner. The food came out quickly although I wish they would've spent more time actually making it from scratch. We ordered gnocchi in a Gorgonzola sauce. The sauce was pretty good but the gnocchi appeared to either come from a package or have been sitting around because it was rubbery. It did not appear to be fresh. One son order gnocchi with tomato sauce and thought it was pretty good. He did agree that the gnocchi seemed to come from a package. Also ordered shrimp and in a garlic sauce. These were the world's smallest shrimp. You actually needed a microscope to see where they were located. There were lots of tiny shrimp and the sauce was OK but it was strange to see complete chunks of garlic not even minced. My other son have the pasta Carbonera which he thought was decent. Overall, I would have given three stars if the owner was not completely rude.
This little Italian restaurant had so much promise until a little dog (the kind you keep in your purse a la Paris Hilton style) wandered out from the kitchen and peed on the floor in the middle of the restaurant ! Worse, the waitress noticed...and retrieved the dog BUT DID NOT CLEAN UP THE MESS!!! After we had finished our meal, the cook came out to watch soccer on the TV. He sat there picking his earwax with his finger. We will never go back. And P.S. the food was very mediocre. Perhaps they have different hygiene standards here to North America, but this was disgusting.
