Monjul - Paris 4e Arrondissement

Very disappointed with our visit here! I read the poor reviews and tried to pass them off as probably overly sensitive snobby reviewers - how wrong was I!!! Everything said is true! We arrived 10 minutes early and were very aloofly offered a table literally by them gesturing towards the table available. I found this extremely poor service from what should be a good quality restaurant. We were sat for a solid 10 minutes before anyone then acknowledged us by giving us a menu but they still said nothing else to us.After this we eventually caught one of the waiters eyes and he said "yes I'm coming ok" before rushing past us back to the kitchen . He then literally asked us our order when he came back - this is now 20 minutes in to being sat at our table and we hadn't even been given an offer of water for our table or asked about drinks!!!We booked this table a month ahead of our visit to Paris and were excited about the innovative menu and wine flight as advertised on the website. However don't be fooled by this - they told us they don't offer a wine flight even though it was priced up on their website, so failing this we asked if they atleast had matching wines to the courses - the waiter said no and then literally just walked off without saying a word or taking our order. A different female waitress then returned and asked if we were ready to order our drinks and starters - clearly very disorganised service and they do not understand their menu nor their flavour combinations. We were then given an amuse buche when we said we would have to decide if the tasting menu we hoped for wasn't on offer, and this just tasted like a pot of salty curry sauce, no depth of flavour whatsoever. As a result we could take no more and had to leave!!!Very poor quality food which is embarrassing for a city famed for its culinary prowess!

Monjul est une adresse plutôt discrète dans un quartier assez vivant : le Marais ! Tout d'abord accueil téléphonique tout en gentillesse et efficacité, ici on se rappelle de vos passages, on vous voit revenir avec plaisir et on vous le dit ! L'accueil physique est dans la même note, le maximum est fait pour satisfaire vos demandes et ça c'est juste la mise en bouche! Tiens justement elle arrive sans tambour ni trompette tout simplement et là ça commence vraiment : le consommé de petit pois et son je-ne-sais-quoi de goûteux et tout parfumé vous laisse tout chose et là ça y est vous êtes pris ! La suite, il faut la découvrir vous même aux travers des titres des plats qui vous donneront envie de tout tester. Rapport qualité prix à la hauteur de la découverte, je conseille le menu du soir entrée-plat -dessert à 37,50€: une pure merveille ! Allez y c'est juste parfait.

On a tenté de nous faire payer 27,60 de plus (nous n'avions pas pris de desserts) de plus, l'addition ne comportait pas le détail de ce que nous avions pris

Nous avons délicieusement dîner dans un lieu très agréable entre qualités des mets et gentillesse des porteurs de plats. Enfin un restaurant ou la détente et le régal se côtoie
