The kitchen had a great staff team, chefs, cooks etc; however the owner, Greg, never kept his promises for raises. I remember working for $13 an hour, all last winter; when I could go work at any fast food place for $2- $5 more. I loved working with the chefs and employees, in terms of the reason I ended up staying, as long as I did. Lastly, I remember getting thrown chump change, for working a whole night of catering. My sous chef used to give me $50 bucks, because the owner was/is cheap; and this was after working 6am- 6pm, and then doing a catering until midnight.
I've been here 3 times and every visit the quality got worse and the prices stayed SUPER high. Today they were legit out of the first 5 things I tried to order. I ended up ordering the French dip and guess what? They were out of French bread. The meat was slimy and it had way too many onions on it. I couldn't even eat it. My boys got a $11 grilled cheese that wasn't grilled and had no flavor... because they ran out of the cheese they usually make it with and used Motzarella. I asked for a to go box for my son's fries on the way out... also out of those. This will definitely be our last visit.
The food tasted okay. Overpriced $12 avocado toast for one slice. Breakfast sandwiches reminded me of McDonald's if you added a little franks red hot and a hash brown. Food was served on a small aluminum sheet trey with a slip sheet of wax paper (seemingly very cafeteria). The theme of the restaurant is not any kind of attraction with two replica tommy guns hanging on the wall and a new artist rendition of a 40's style gangster car. I would think some real car parts on the wall would have been fun. The windows were dirty with fingerprints. The coffee was quite good though if there is a plus side. I would not return and would not recommend.
Poor food, service, and energy. Hated it and it was pricey too. Needs onsite management to keep the two youngsters in check and to seriously up the food and prep quality. Don't like to leave poor reviews... this is well deserved.
Been here before and it was good. So maybe they were just having a bad day? We picked up 2 sandwiches to go. One had a bun so hard, it could chip a tooth. It was supposed to have coleslaw, but it was just cabbage, no seasoning whatsoever. The other was covered in onion skins. And they forgot the sauce that was supposed to go on the side. As a first ever, we ended up throwing both sandwiches away.
