Tailwinds Georgian Bay - Parry Sound

We were referred to Tailwinds by local realtor Geoff Hayes, and he was absolutely right. We opted for a patio table and enjoyed stunning views of the marina, a seaplane landing, and a train crossing the trestle bridge. Our server, a vibrant young woman named Jessica, was incredibly attentive and on top of everything. The service was excellent, and the food was delicious and packed with flavor. It's a great value all around.

Taking a look at the reviews it is evident this is a recurring issue with this restaurant.Last week my colleagues and I went for dinner there (our mistake). The waiting time was ridiculous, I ordered the soup of the day and after a 35 minute wait for soup!!! I asked my server what was the hold up as 35 minutes for soup was unacceptable she was very snarky and seemed annoyed i was even bringing it up. When I asked her how much longer we had to wait, she answered she didn’t know and couldn’t provide a time frame. I asked her to check with the kitchen as they should be able to tell! she brought the soup however no one else got any of their meals. While we waited we saw a table across from us walked out and left.By the time it had been a 50 minute wait my party and I decided to leave the place. The other staff seemed flustered by this, another server mentioned they were having issues with their kitchen. However our server failed to mention this to us at the very beginning. She knew there were issues at the kitchen she should’ve communicated this to us and given us the option if we wanted to wait. They mentioned the food was ready and they offered to place it to go. After making us loose our time they still expect us to be ok with this.At least the front of house seemed over staff and had plenty of empty tables, its not like it was busy.Terrible service and terrible experience. We had our time limited as 2 of us had to work. Unacceptable to make people loose their time like this!

I always enjoy my meal, and the staff are amazing! Everything is delicious, but I highly recommend garlic bacon cheese bread, as well as lasagna soup. This visit we enjoyed the breakfast bacon blt wrap. You can often see a plane takeoff or land, and they are located on the water. Thank you, we will see you again soon!Food: 5/5

Four of us stopped by for dinner on September 1/23 by boat. Docked right out front and got a table on the patio. The waterfront location is fantastic, the service and food were great. Our server Paige was wonderful!! Live music by Sully Burrows was an added bonus. We will be back for sure!!!Food: 5/5

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a bite to eat. The host was pleasant and seated us. She gave us menus and said a server would be with us shortly. After 15 minutes the host noticed we still hadn’t been served. She left and after another 5 minutes and seeing other people get seated and served we decided to leave. It was steady but not full and no shortage of staff. Sorry but I can’t give a good review based on this experience.
