Sou'Wester Gift & Restaurant Ltd

We always wanted to see the famous lighthouse at Peggy's Cove so we made it there and then started walking around and went into the Sou'Wester Restaurant and Gift Shop - what a find!!We ate breakfast not too long before heading to the cove...but when you're offered a whole lobster dinner for $19.99, you suddenly have an appetite!!The picture below near the window is where we sat and the view was amazing, the seafood chowder and freshly baked biscuit before the lobster dinner was SO GOOD and then the lobster comes and you really don't care how messy this is about to get...its fresh as fresh can get and OMG it was fabulous!! The gift shop was great with lots of choices for any age and they also have a small candy shop with salt water taffy and original sea-themed BBQ accessories that would make great Xmas stocking stuffer ideas! I really cannot wait to go back to Halifax!!

When I go to a food establishment at an obvious tourist location, I do not have high expectations. Our meal at the Sou'Wester was "home made" and quite tasty. Fish hash with beans, and gingerbread with ice cream above average. The Americano definitely lacking.All staff friendly and genuine.Prices ranged from reasonable to quite excessive - in line with the product and the location.Two very large gift shops with full range of items from kitsch to quality.

Stopped in for lunch whilst visiting Peggys Cove! Good service, very busy place, The fish & chips was very good & the Haddock sandwich was great too!

The food was really good and welcome after the excercise of wandering around the area and climbing over the huge rocks. I would reccommend it to my friends.

...the freshest Mussels that I've had almost anywhere and the service was good. The prices are okay and the lobster fresh but I also recommend some of the fresh fish on the menu. Nice views as well and if you're staying in the small village then you can walk home after a couple pints.
