Stopping at point house was definitely a good choice and can’t wait to return to this friendly pub
We hiked along the coast path from West Angle Bay on a sunny, windy day in December, with the intention of ending up at this wonderful, cozy, dog-friendly pub for a light meal. Upon our arrival, we saw huge, delicious-looking Sunday dinners being served, but we were hoping for something smaller from the Cafe Mor menu, which we were informed was not available. Disappointed, we started to leave and informed a different staff member, a woman, that we were reluctantly leaving in search of a smaller meal. This kind lady went above and beyond to accommodate us. She immediately offered to prepare something from the cafe menu for us, and we gratefully removed our coats and settled back into our seats. We ordered two burgers (one meat, one veggie) and a crab sandwich, along with a side of chips to share among the three of us. What arrived were three massive sandwiches, served on soft and delicious homemade focaccia bread, accompanied by perfectly crispy chips and a variety of tasty sauces. Although it was not exactly a light meal, I had no regrets as the food was truly delicious. The crab sandwich was the most generous and tasty one I've ever had, and even my picky sister enjoyed the veggie burger. My partner's beef burger was just as great as always. To top it off, when the staff learned it was my birthday, they surprised me with a scrumptious chocolate cake. I was so full that I had to take it home and enjoy it later with a cup of tea, but their kind gesture was truly appreciated. The whole experience, especially the exceptional service from the lady, made our day. If she happens to read this review, I want to express my gratitude once again. We will definitely be returning in the future.
I had a delightful dining experience at this restaurant. The food was superb and well worth the price. Despite the rough road to get there, the friendly service made it all worth it. I would definitely return in the future. My only small suggestion would be to have the log burner on in the restaurant for a more cozy atmosphere. However, we still enjoyed our lunch. Thank you.
We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while staying in Angle and we absolutely adore it. The location, atmosphere, and overall vibe were perfect for us. We've had lunch there for three days straight (after all, we are on vacation!) and we can't find any faults with the food. The quality of the ingredients and the originality of the dishes were exceptional. This place is a refreshing change in every way.
This was such a wonderful choice for our anniversary dinner. The tagliatelle was the best I’ve ever tried and the mackerel was amazing! Service was fab, they honestly couldn’t have done any more for us. The seaweed recipes are amazing and loved all of the recommendations for drinks. We can’t wait to return. Absolutely loved Cafe Mor for years and now The Old Point House is a fave for us! Also Barti Cream is a must
