This charming little restaurant may look a bit worn at first glance, but it offers delicious homemade dishes in a cozy setting. Located by a river in Malltraeth, we enjoyed our meal in one of the painted sheds in the garden. The carrot and coriander soup was truly homemade and served with sandwich rolls. My corned beef sandwich was just like I would make at home, and my partner and son enjoyed their egg sandwiches as well. The owner even gave our dog a cooked sausage to enjoy, showing how dog-friendly the place is. It seems that the restaurant may be for sale soon as the current owners are retiring, but let's hope that it continues in the same wonderful manner.
I was amazed by your delicious cakes and the friendly service at your restaurant. My husband mentioned that your Bara Brith was the best he's ever had in all the years we've been visiting. I really hope you'll be open tomorrow so I can purchase some to take home. Your generous portion sizes and great value make for an absolutely excellent dining experience. Thank you so much!
We visited this place purely because of the reviews and so expected great things. Average is the best I can say and that’s a push! They do have a great choice which surprised me all home made frozen and microwaved while you wait. The food...was ordered we found our place in the outside hut. The male owner kindly banged on the window when my order was ready and I could go and collect it myself!! I took the food back to the table and prepared to be amazed. Amazed I wasn’t! Mine was ok for a reheated dish and my wife’s apple crumble was raw in places, nice ice cream though. One thing that struck me was the number of signs around the place giving us orders- it felt very regimented. One way systems, put all rubbish in bin with CAPITALISED UNDERLINED sections for added authority lol. The best was in the toilet/storage area that threatened if you didn’t leave it clean then the ‘service’ wouldn’t be available for other guests! With uncooked/average food, too many rules and staff not prepared to bring the pricey food to your table we left unsatisfied and feeling cheated. We will not be going back that’s for sure
As always a warm welcome and a much appreciated coffee. I am a frequent attendee and they have an amazing choice of cakes, (normal/gluten free/dairy free) as well as a very wide choice of lunches (quiches and salad, soup and sandwich etc). They have a...brilliant covid safe arrangement in the garden and in case of rain they have invested in small beach huts so you can stay dry to have your meal
This cafe is truly exceptional and my personal favorite. I love to be active and explore new places, and I always reward myself with a coffee and pastry. This cafe is the ultimate treat spot and definitely worth the miles I biked to reach it. The brownie was the most delicious I've ever had, with fantastic service and a lovely atmosphere. I adored the beach huts in the garden. If you're in the area, I highly recommend making the trip to visit this amazing cafe.
