We were staying at the hotel for an early morning flight the following day. This is the only real dining option for travellers going to the airport, particularly if you don’t have a car.The staff were friendly and attentive and the food quality good. The menu is adequate as is the drinks list. Prices are average for the area, for both food and drinks.I know it is difficult to estimate in advance, but it was disappointing when two of the choices involve chicken, parmigiana and chicken fillets, and they didn’t have any left? We were in the restaurant relatively early, and there were only approximately ten people in the restaurant at any time while we were there. However, that aside, the meals were large to say the least. My wife had fish and chips with salad – four pieces of fish, which she couldn’t finish, and I had a beef burger and chips which I also struggled with. Both were well presented and well cooked. The drink and wine list is adequate and reasonably priced.Overall, more than adequate dining for the style of restaurant.
The menu caters for those who want something a bi different or some 'home-style' cooking, but done extra well. Good range of wines by the glass, and the icecreams are superb.
We chose this restaurant because of its location to where we were staying at Seven Mile Beach near the Hobart Airport.I have found in most cases that a restaurant that is a part of an accommodation place (In this case Travelodge) usually offers average food but I was proved wrong and I was very pleasantly surprised. There were three of us dining and we had entrees and mains with drinks at a cost of $150.00 which I thought was good due to the portion sizes and quality of the meals.I had a scotch fillet steak which had the best searing and caramelization that I have tasted in a long time. The steak melted in my mouth so I can recommend this dish. One of my friends had the chicken parmigiana and while he said it was not as moist as he likes it was a very generous serve and he still enjoyed it. My other friend had a salmon pasta dish which he really enjoyed. Prices were good for the serving sizes. We were planning on have desert but we were all quite full after our entrees and main courses. (See photos)The restaurant also offers a full bar service. If you are staying at the Travelodge they also offer full room service for meals. The decor is quite plain but the service and food is well worth a visit.
Great little restaurant - good location - food serve sizes and prices are appropriate - nice atmosphere - except I was disappointed that out of a group of five, the person with the Entertainment Book voucher for which she should have been entitled to a reduction of the cheapest meal, was knocked back and was reimbursed by 50% only, claiming she dined alone! This is not how all the other restaurants operate, and it would be appropriate if the waitress could be informed of rules the Entertainment Book vouchers so others didn't get caught.
