Unfortunately the place is one of the most disappointed restaurants we’ve had. They charged $18 for the Station Burger, and the bun was stale and the chips were lukewarm and soggy. My sister ordered the Hangover BBQ, for $21 she got 3 pieces of chicken tender sized meats with one of the lamb skewer still raw in the middle. The avocado guacamole that came with the hangover was dry and slightly dark. One of the girl’s prawn pasta had hair in it and the can of coke she ordered never arrived. In total our bill was $117 – I would spend this elsewhere. The shop had a For Sale sign in front, so hopefully they can pick up their game.
How can you charge $5 for a regular takeaway coffee outside of any capital city? Cute idea but coffee was above price and below quality. Would recommend vintage cafe (next door) next time.....
Over cooked eye fillet , gluggy risotto . Wine by the glass , bottles opened for far too long . Wines on list out it stock . Unfriendly attitude to customers .
We were in town for wine tasting and just happened upon this wonderful restaurant. We were so impressed we came back a second night. The lamb and steak were true winners capped by great, friendly service by Tayla. Stop here when in Penola!
Had rack of lamb which was cooked correctly. Nice selection of vegetables. Sticky date pudding was also nice. The waitress was lovely. Friendly and attentive. She displayed the same service to everyone. She could show a thing or two to the stuffy waiting staff in Melbourne.
