G&s Bailey - Penrith

We had lunch there as part of an Odyssey's Unlimited tour on June 17, 2022, and it was fantastic! The atmosphere was wonderful, the service was attentive, and the food was delicious. I would love to return on my own, so be sure to stop by when you're in the area!

The dining experience was surprisingly excellent. The atmosphere is wonderful. After a few days of mediocre meals in the central area, we finally discovered this little gem for our family.

We had a fantastic meal, with amazing service and a beautiful, friendly atmosphere. The starters were absolutely delicious – the garlic crostini and black pudding stack could rival Michelin-quality dishes. The main courses were excellent as well; the chicken, sink, and launch cake were the best we’ve ever tasted (and we’re from Wigan!). A big shoutout to Neil, Alex, and the entire staff for making us feel so welcome that we can't wait to return.

A beautiful pub on the north side of the lake quarter. fantastic price-performance ratio, so if you order 3 courses, they bring their esspants! really nice welcoming atmosphere and they can see that the owners have put a lot of love in the place. pictures below of black pudding statue (church could not resist taking a bite) huhn caesar, chicken cake and a beautiful cream brulee!

Amazing food, decent price, nice location. Loads of outside seating. The chicken and ham pie was absolutely delicious and I think was home made by the chef Will go back again when in that neck of the woods. £50-60 all in for 4 meals and 4 drinks. What's not to like. Dog friendly inside with water bowl.
