Then He opened a store on Prospect Rd., in Peoria Heights, IL. 'The Cow ' ,as we affectionately called it, was a great place to go, after events for treats or when you just craved the 'homemade ' style ice cream. When the business out grew its space, The Spotted Cow was moved to the new location. The menu expanded, at this time. The food has always been great and the ice cream the very best. Peoria is very lucky to have an ice cream/ food service restaurant of this caliber. We now live in Montana, but every time we are back in Peoria, we have a lunch date there with several friends. We Love the Spotted Cow and Frank is the best. Keep up the good work, Frank, so glad business is doing great. I would and have recommended The Spotted Cow to many, over the years and will continue to do the same.
I have been going to the Spotted Cow since I was probably 5 when it was down the street from Slim Clippins, and it has the most legit food in Peoria. The ice cream is utterly fantastic, and their burgers are just perfection to me. I go every chance that I can, and I highly recommend you stop by the next time you have a craving for diner food.
Delicious food and ice cream. We loved it when Frank was there, but haven't met the new owner. The tenderloins and Italian beef are the best ever. French fries and onion rings are great as is the salad with chicken. If the new owner keeps the same recipes we will still keep going there. A #1
Best buffalo chicken sandwich in town! Along with a plethora of other great options, homemade ice cream, and great service. Couldn’t ask for more
When driving through Peoria, The Spotted Cow is an absolutely necessary stop. Not only does it serve fantastic classic American Diner food, but also specializes in it's own kind of Ice Cream and Beef as well. The owner is awesome to talk to, passionate about his business and is open to suggestion, so if you find that the burgers are too small here, you can ask them to make it however you want and they will. I asked them to make their biggest cheeseburger with an additional patty, an onion ring, and some of their seasoned Italian Beef with a side of their homemade potato salad and a custom made Turtle Malted Milkshake. It was a masterpiece and a beast of a meal. This is a prime example of how a restaurant should be run. You can tell that they put their heart and soul into every creation they make, that they have a love for the business they are involved in, and their employees love working there. I strongly recommend it, and I hope to be back again soon someday.
