We had had a Pernand white the night before and were most impressed by it, so we thought we would visit the village. We went for this small restaurant, run by a couple and with several local people drinking there. Two turned out to be...wine workers by the way. We had dishes ranging from salads to plates of meats to cheese fondues! Definitely a Swiss tilt to some dishes. They were all wonderful, sensibly priced and so tasty. The owners were great people, and of course the wines were great too. We ended up spending the rest of the afternoon wandering in the vineyards with one of the workers (after having done a tasting of course). A wonderful lunch in a superb location.
On the edge of the lovely Burgundy village of Pernand Vergelesses, overlooking the world-famous vineyards, this restaurant feeds the wine-pickers their evening meal after they return from work. We sat at rustic tables in the yard of this very clean and tidy restaurant and were...served with great hamburgers, chips and salad and a fabulous bottle of Pernand Vqergelesses local wine. Even the landlord's mother, who did the cooking, came out to say hello. Lovely place for a rural lunch and not expensive.
We ate twice here in June 2015. The place is simple, country rustic and warm service. the owner couple welcomed us like old friends and warmly served us our orders. The burgundy snails were as good as any in Beaune and the area. The salad...was simple crisp lettuce with her home made dressing. The house wine was very acceptable particularly when Pernand Vergelesses boasts four resident grand crus. Recommend.
We were so happy to find this gem of a restaurant for lunch. A seemingly mom and pop little restaurant was surprisingly tasty fresh, hearty salads and great wine. I wish that we had another chance to go back!
