Clear soup is always hot and fresh, fresh salad with ginger dressing and steaming fried rice and I usually get the chicken hibachi it also comes with fresh veggies. For appetizers we get the gyoza (pan seared potstickers) and the yakatori (chicken on a stick with teriyaki and sesame seeds). I don't really think it's worth it to pay the dinner price but the lunch is definitely worth it.
I don't understand the negative reviews Liz this place has awesome food! Hidden gem for sure!
We live locally so we dine here frequently. Both my kids live the sushi here and always crave it. Angry dragon and monkey roll are our favorites. The hibachi is my personal favorite. Everything prepared at the hibachi is fresh and delicious. I have yet to have a situation where the quality wasn't good. We have had mostly everything on the hibachi menu. Filet and shrimp hibachi is our family favorite and I'm obsessed with the veggies. Fried rice is also tasty. The chefs are very friendly and accommodating when special food request are made. They are also very entertaining with their cooking skills and keeping the energy at the table very lively. They also do take out as well if you are ever in the midst for great sushi and don't feel like dining in.
Makoto is by far the best Sushi in Warren County NJ....every time I come here the service is amazing and the attention to detail is on par with some of the countries finest sushi joints...and I've been to quite a few....as a former Chef....I give them 5 stars and know you will too!!!!
Don't buy the groupon!!! We were just there and had a terrible experience. Their ad on groupon shows a lovely photo of a huge plate of sushi rolls sashimi. The groupon fine print states that you can only use the groupon for dinner only meaning not lunch in my opinion . When we arrived there was a sign on the door stating that groupon guests were not going to be offered free refills and the groupon can only be used on dinners meaning not apps, sushi rolls, sashimi, noodles, etc. There were only 2 servers in the entire place and they were not welcoming. Once they knew we had a groupon it was game over! Never checked on us, didn't refill the water and then when we gave our credit card for our bill $6.70 they told us they don't accept credit cards for under $10. I didn't have any cash so he was out of luck if he didn't accept it. As for the food...we got the beef negamiki sp? and seafood teriyaki. Blah. Definitely was not good not worth the money. We have reason to believe they also added MSG or maybe they slipped something in our dinner b/c we were cheap Americans using a groupon! haha. Definitely won't go back. Yi En in Whitehouse blows them away!!!
