The pulled pork egg rolls were crispy and full of flavor, while the sweet potato fries were crunchy, delicious, and perfectly sweet without being overwhelming; we didn’t even need the brown sugar dipping sauce. The draft beers we had were fresh and enjoyable. The one dish we wouldn’t order again were the tacos; they lacked flavor, were quite uninteresting, and fell apart easily when picked up, which was surprising considering the high quality of everything else. Overall, this place is an amazing discovery for us. We will definitely return and can't wait to share it with our friends!

Wheelfish is a laid-back BBQ restaurant housed in a charmingly worn wooden building. The menu features a variety of appetizers, including pulled pork nachos and quesadillas, as well as entrees like sandwiches, various meats, and tacos. You can also find sides such as corn muffins and sweet potato fries, along with some desserts and beers. The prices are quite reasonable. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, which included chicken, ribs, kielbasa, a pulled pork taco, a brisket taco, grilled vegetables, macaroni and cheese, and French fries. The fried deviled eggs were decent, but not outstanding. As for the service, our waitress was prompt in seating us, taking our order, serving our food, and delivering the check. She had a friendly demeanor and we appreciated her suggestion of a sweet sauce to try, as well as her attention in bringing us a drink refill. Overall, it was a great experience!

We were in town visiting friends who are locals and regular patrons at Wheelfish. What an amazing experience! The BBQ was exceptional, and the welcoming atmosphere perfectly captures the local spirit. The live performance by the Baxter Brothers was a wonderful addition! It's rare to find 1920s classics played on trumpet, trombone, and accordion outside of Pittsburgh. While BBQ in North Carolina is fantastic, it simply can't compare to the musical experience provided here.
