Contribuisci feedbackI had walked by this restaurant couple of times without really noticing it but I'm glad we found it. The interior is lovely and we were very happy with our main course with beautiful seafood. The baklava I had for dessert was unfortunately dry and not quite what I expected - the name of the dessert could thus be reconsidered. I guess we were just unlucky with our waitress who clearly wasn't a professional and for example casually stacked our plates on the table in front of us. She mentioned having a long day and we certainly hope that after a good rest she is more on the ball. Despite of this hilarious experience we recommend the place for a pleasant dinner.
The Seafood Linguine had a generous amount of seafood including mussels, prawns and scallops in a tomato and white wine sauce. The zucchini ribbons added to the dish. The fish of the day was beautifully cooked and presented. A delicious dish. The setting was enjoyable and service was very good.
Has a varied cocktail list although service from the bar is somewhat slow. That said the cocktails are good and well served. The selection from the menu is varied and the quantity and quality good. Would definitely rate it as one of my favourites in Port Douglas. The lounge area is comfortable and would be good if you just wanted to pop i for a drink and light snack.
If you're looking for a place to have that special dinner then you can't go wrong with Zinc. The staff are attentive and quick to serve. Your glass of water is constantly topped up. One of its draw cards is the extensive range of cocktails both familiar and unique to the restaurant. Of course there are plenty of wines and beers to choose from as well. The menu has a wide variety of dishes and does not disappoint. It can be pricey but the quality and presrntatuib is worth it. When on holidays up north it's nice to splash out at least once in some fine dining.
The white tablecloths although covered with white paper gives this restaurant an oh so inviting atmosphere. We had for entrees spiced squid and goats cheese soufflé (more like a mousse than a soufflé) both well presented and tasty. For mains there was a duck special which we both had and would have been an excellent dish if the skin had been crisper and even browned. An enjoyable cheese course for 2 followed, however my personal opinion is that it should not have included smoked cheese. For dessert we had strawberries marinated in a cinnamon / star anise liquid with sweet cream in a puff pastry bun and a well presented traditional panna cotta. Now referring to the review title, there is a seemingly endless list of cocktails, a great choice of champagnes, a rather limited choice of red/white wine and only one dessert wine (which was no longer available). Surely it is not unreasonable to think that this could have been corrected within minutes. There is a bottle shop across the road.... Finally our French waitperson was both delightful and professional and made our night seamless.
