Our waiter was very friendly and checked in on us often. I had a margarita pizza, my friend had tomato risotto, we shared a arugula salad. Food was okay, as to be expected in a touristy area, nothing too spectacular, but just fine.
Our visit to Ristorante San Nicola was more like a quick refreshment and washroom break. It's actually two locations, a few doors apart. They both have outdoor seating a few paces from their entrance. We chose the smaller of the two locations which offered lighter fare, such as pizza, wings, fries, and so on. We shared an order of wings and an order of fries. The wings were deep fried just plain and served with a Thai chili dipping sauce. I don't like a lot of sauce on my wings so this was just right for me. I even liked it without the sauce. Good texture. The fries were cooked really well, nice and crispy. It was a lot for us to finish so the nearby pigeons benefited. BTW, the washrooms were at the other location.
We were in Prague a couple of weeks ago and stepped into Ristorante San Nicola on a drizzly night. The chill ended at the door. Sasha eagerly greeted us, fixed the table for 5 and brought menus. He suggested aperitifs and never stopped smiling. We didn't stop smiling the whole time either. The pizza was terrific (we each got a different one), the beer was fresh, the mixed drinks were perfect. We will go back next time we're in Prague.
Don't eat here. This waiter would not wait on us after 30 minutes, even though all around us got served.he actually ridiculed us to other customers. Finally left.
I know I know they are right on the main square and usually these places suck. But... We ate here twice on our four days in Prague. By far the best meals in town. I will say I am more of an Italian food fan than Czech food. We ate the gnocchi, pasta carbonara, risotto del chef, and a pizza. We all loved what we ate. The only thing we didn't care for 100% was the calamari. It was a bit chewy. We also really liked each of the servers we had. They were prompt and efficient and gave great recommendations. The only thing I will warn you about is that they don't accept credit cards. Definitely eat here for Italian.
