I love Italian food and am always eager to try new restaurants. Windham NY doesn't have a large selection of restaurants and with Bistro Brie Bordeaux gone (one of our local favorites), we decided to try Millrock. It's Sunday evening and we got a table quite easily, although my husband dropped me off to park the car, and they wouldn't seat me until he arrived. I found that odd, but once he arrived we were seated inside per our request. The outdoors was teeming with people and we wanted a chance to sit and have a quiet conversation inside. We ordered from our waiter Adam, were brought the warm bread and olive oil and then waited for our order to arrive. Our drinks arrived quickly, but our meal took almost 40 minutes to arrive. I had ordered the special lobster ravioli and my husband the fettuccine with vodka sauce. While waiting, no one checked on us we could have used more water and perhaps another cocktail, but it seemed the wait staff was all huddled together near the kitchen and not paying attention to any of their patrons. I was surprised at the wait given the restaurant was not crowded at all. When our order arrived, my ravioli were swimming in butter. So much butter in fact that I removed my ravioli to my bread plate to eat it as it was grossing me out. The ravioli were ok a lot of lobster filling but the dough was too tough for me. The fettuccine with vodka was only ok. For a $100 dinner, I'm not sure I'd return. I expected more from a restaurant that usually has such a long wait for a table.
My fiancé and I came here yesterday for dinner for the first time, and we will definitely be coming back! The restaurant itself is very cute, and it was very busy but we still got great service. The food was absolutely amazing and was so fresh. My fiancé is a vegetarian and there were plenty of options for him. They have a great dinner selection, and a really good dessert menu. The staff was very friendly. I already can’t wait to come back during our next visit to Windham!
Wow. We were In town visiting for the summer and stopped here for dinner one night. The food is fresh, flavorful, and all around fantastic. The service was great. Highly recommend
Had a FANTASTIC meal at Millrock. Dinner was delicious but leave room for dessert SUPERB. The staff and owner were engaging, they treated us like regulars. The back patio was the perfect place to hang out while enjoying food and company. Will definitely return if we're in the area.
Millrock, Windham N.Y if your palette wants Italian American food, you have found a quaint bistro style. Mussels in bianco sauce was simply delicious with slivers fresh garlic, shallots and hint of creamy butter ,herbs ,fresh and sizeable mussels along with fresh baked bread is a meal in it self. Bolognese red sauce with linguine perfectly acidity and sweetness that doesn't leave your stomach acidic. Perfection to the chef. If your palette craves 12 inch personal pizza margarita base with toppings of your choice and fresh homemade mozzarella soars to new heights with thin crust. Millrock also has premier wine inventory, tonight staffing seems understaffed and not alot of tables, hopefully this will be remedied since this is a hidden gem in Windham N.Y. that will please your senses.Millrock also charges a credit card fee to use your credit card, no one carrys cash?? My credit company advised this is illegal in ny and questionable charging your customers a fee to use a credit card. taking advantage during this economic inflation. Hrs Thursday through Sunday.
