We asked to sit at the bar, but the bartender intentionally kept her back to us and completely ignored us (the place was practically empty). For some unknown reason, she continued to clean glasses and pretend like we weren’t sitting there. It was a really off-putting visit, absolutely no reason for the way we were treated. After about 10 minutes, we decided to get up and leave. Awful service, terrible atmosphere. DO NOT GO HERE, I work in the customer service industry, and this is the second time we have been disappointed by this place. Ugh. Do better, Vesuvio.
In short, 14 of us celebrated my dad’s 80th birthday with dinner at Vesuvio’s. Great choice! Excellent food at reasonable prices experienced (well-trained), attentive friendly service! Details: I contacted Vesuvio’s via email to see if they could accommodate a party of 14. They responded within a few hours and we set up a phone call to discuss details. Since we wld be a big party. I offered to choose a few items to help the kitchen waitstaff but was assured that this would not be necessary. We could order from the main menu. We could bring in our own cake or they could provide one. I emailed a week ahead of our reservation to confirm our headcount and our decision that they should provide a cake and felt confident that all would be in order. We were seated at a nice large table (not crowded). The head waitress introduced herself (Donna) and the other waitstaff, let us settle, took drink orders, did not rush us, explained the specials, answered questions and took our orders. When the time came they took coffee orders and delivered it with a delicious strawberry shortcake “Happy 80th Birthday!” and joined us in singing. We had a great time! Donna and her staff were very attentive and friendly and the food was excellent! We will recommend Vesuvio’s and definitely be back!
Great food, great service. Their stuffed clams with the buttery garlic is absolutely a must try. They also have a special hot sauce they make, which you can ask about.
My wife and I came here a couple of months ago on a Saturday night while away for the weekend. It was busy, but we did not have to wait. Staff was very friendly and tended to us well for anything we needed. Wine selection was pretty deep and a very good bottle was recommended by our waitress. We had an appetizer, I had the Sunday Gravy Meal, and since we there for my wife's birthday, the staff gave her dessert with a candle and sang to her. We were there about 2 hours and never once felt like we were being pushed out. All of the food was excellent and the staff really made us feel at home and relaxed. Definitely will return here given another opportunity.
Horrible experience. Bad overpriced food, poor unprofessional service. Our dinner started with long black hair in the bread, then we found a fly in the cocktail, unfresh lettuce in Caesar salad, unsavory steak, and rotten lobster at the end. When we showed all these to the server, she didn’t even apologize. Looks like it’s a normal everyday routine for this “restaurant”. DO NOT Recommend.
