Initial impression was of generally dirty and dusty throughout the dining area. We ordered shrimp veggie rolls (decent), wonton soup (decent but off tasting) for Appetizers. We were served room temperature water without ice. For entrees we ordered sweet and sour pork (decent), black beef, (good) and coconut chicken (awful). Although the service was good and the server who I presume is the owner was efficient and she was very nice and thankful, I can't see going back.Maybe I should've tried the pho
Had the curry lamb. Fiery hot! But if you like fire, be my guest! Bright orange curry sauce, rice, and veggies.
We went here today for a delicious hot bowl of pho! I had the lemongrass chicken which was recommended and my husband had the rare beef which was also recommended. Both regular sizes were huge and the perfect amount of rice noodles and broth. There was the usual chili oil on the table which had a lot of heat - just what we wanted! Quality pho, a nice find in PG. Service was so friendly, will definitely return.
This being my 1st time trying pho I have no basis for comparison, but theirs is very good, I thought. l made the mistake of ordering the mystery meat pho (tripe, liver, etc) thinking it would be more authentic. I should have played it safe and plumped for the seafood pho. I got the large bowl, and when it arrived I was worried that there was no way I was going to be able to finish it. But I did, and apart from some unpleasantly textured meat it was very good. I had read you are supposed to drink from the bowl like from an enormous coffee cup, once you are out of noodles and meat, so that's what I did. Very flavourful broth. This rather impressed my very pleasant server, either because my appetite was such that I was able to polish off the whole thing, or that most people didn't do it the Vietnamese way and didn't drink the broth after eating the noodles, etc. The atmosphere is lacking a bit. Harsh lighting in the main dining area, so go to the tables in the more secluded seating to the right if you want to feel less conspicuous. I also had chicken dumplings, which were very plump and juicy. Good dipping sauce. Hopefully someone will have remembered to turn on the hall light for the bathroom when you are there, as I was left groping around before stumbling into the woman's. All told a pleasant experience and I would put this place in your rotation, but lower down there.
Had a dinner with friends last week and they come all the time so the server knows them. Very friendly and totally adorable. I had the coconut chicken that comes with asparagus and rice. Mild flavor but quite good. Next time I'll try the Pho
