We were there as a stop during a friend's bachelor party, and Ruth kindly shared her recommendations on where to go and where to avoid. She reminded us to stay hydrated and suggested we grab some food since we had started our day early. Her warmth and kindness were reminiscent of my late grandmother, also named Ruth. I would highly recommend this place! Twiggy was also fantastic, providing friendly, old-school service and being quick with our orders. I ended up giving him a 100% tip for his outstanding service while handling me and my friends.
My first visit to this historic pub exceeded my expectations. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was excellent. Hunter was attentive and made us feel like part of the family. We ordered the Murphy's Reuben and the Portobello Reuben, accompanied by a delightful potato salad, flavorful pickle slices, and a fantastic Russian dressing. To top it off, we enjoyed some locally brewed Whaler's Rise and Narragansett Lager from right here in Rhode Island. We can't wait to return for more great food in this charming pub from 1929.
We had a fantastic experience here! I genuinely believe that the Smokehouse burger is the best burger I've ever tasted. It's a half-pound burger cooked to perfection, medium rare, and topped with bacon, onions, and coleslaw—all served on perfectly toasted Texas toast. Absolutely outstanding! Plus, they have a great selection of taps!
I stayed at a hotel nearby, and this restaurant came highly recommended by a friend from Providence. It certainly lived up to the praise! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed. I love the rustic decor and the overall vibe of the place. Louis, who was behind the bar, was fantastic! I also had the pleasure of meeting his mother, Ruth, who is one of the owners. I truly enjoyed my time there; they are genuinely great people! The food was outstanding, particularly the Reuben with added cole slaw and pastrami. This was my first visit, and they absolutely nailed my experience! I highly recommend this cool spot! Thank you, Louis and Ruth, for being amazing!
Spent the weekend at 'The Dean '...Murphy 's was the best part about the stay (the dean, was less than pleasant). We had Saturday PM dinner, food was amazing (wings potato skins best I 've had, great salads clearly fresh/homemade shepards pie), drinks were great, service awesome atmosphere perfect to watch the Bs game. We also had Sunday breakfast. Hubby says the hash was best he has had. Thanks for the great meals, we will be back!
