Viejo Vallarta - Puerto Vallarta

This is my second time to eat at one of their restaurants and the 1st time to eat at the Malecon location. For those who can't climb stairs, you should know that it is two flights up from the Malecon...being on the third floor, but there is a hand rail all the way. The view of the Malecon and bay is generous and it's a little cooler up there. It's a fantastic spot and great if you can sit by the rail. I would try to make reservations since they have a limited number of tables next to the rail. The Menu is large and varied, and just like the menu at their Libertad location. They have simple Mexican entrees, and entrees that are more intricate and sound delicious. For this visit we chose more traditional Mexican dishes. My friend had the Coconut Shrimp for $220 Pesos and I had the Tequila Shrimp with Rice and fresh Vegetables for $225 Pesos. Both were scrumptious! Service was warm, friendly, and timely. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

The view of Malecon Boardwalk & beachfront is priceless. The food was good & service was friendly. Spacious restaurant with authentic Mexican food.

This restaurant was an ideal location for dinner on a Sunday evening with the activities in the plaza and the amphitheater nearby. With a table on the balcony we had a great view of the malecon and a beautiful sunset over the sea. One drawback was the noise of a person down on the malecon drumming along to canned popular music, nothing original or particularly talented about it, and this persisted throughout our meal. I wish that the restaurant would have blasted out their own music to try to drown out the annoying drummer. The food was good. The tortilla soup especially was tasty for starters. I then had chicken breast with an orange and ginger sauce while my Dad tried a nice fish recipe called Mayan fish. It had an an interesting sauce that included nuts. My Mom had a Caesar salad and chicken nachos and was quite pleased with her choices. It was sad to see there were only a handful of tables occupied when we went. Perhaps the third floor location holds people back from discovering this place.
