Kaleiʻs Lunchbox Pukalani

So... Ordered the complete which had chicken, a meat patty with gravy and onions, and a piece of mahi that was fried.For starters, the fish was rotten. Could smell it over the fried smell, opened it up and got a horrible fishy smell I've never associated with mahi mahi. It was literally rotten.I think the chicken was at one point fried and then reheated. It was rubbery, had no flavor, and was obviously very very greasy. Both the chicken and the fish were inedible; had I eaten the fish I think I would have gotten sick.I ate a few bites of the meat patty, it actually tasted alright but sitting next to the other food I had lost my appetite. I ended up throwing most of the meal away. I honestly don't know they could have done to make this right other than refunding my money. I can't imagine trying to eat here again. If I could give the food zero stars, I would.

My wife and I dropped in for a mid afternoon lunch. We were happy with the cleanliness of the place, and it is nice and bright. The specials were posted outside and the Kalei's Bento sounded great. We got it and a chop salad with no protein to split. It came with Mochiko Chicken, Prawns, Beef, and Macaroni Salad. We wished we hadn't got it to split... Wow was it good every bite was excellent!The staff were friendly and greeted everyone as they came in the door. The were happy to answer questions about the food for those not familiar with it. We'll be back!Parking: The shopping area parking is free and plentiful when we were there.

Perfect take out lunch at Kalei’s. We took out to get lunch during our lunch in Kaleakala crater and it was delicious.The food was really tasty, I loved the Brussels sprouts and the Mahi plate.Only thing I would complain about is that we ordered ahead to get it at a specific time and it was not ready when we arrived, we had to wait an extra 10min but that’s fine.
