Make sure to ask for the English menu. The owner was very helpful to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. Prices were great given the the food quality and servicing sizes. Felt like we were a guest in someone's home ... but not for a stuffy evening.
After searching for viable vegetarian options in Quebec City, I came across reviews for Bachir. The "more than a mile" walk from our Old City Hotel was worth every step. Aside from the warm welcome, the food was sooo good. I ordered the felafel plate which came with 2 felafels, plus a variety of other Lebanese delights including tabouleh, rice, an amazing carrot sort of stew, some French fry-like potatoes, a garlicky mayo, hummus and a tzatziki sort of dip plus pita bread. Every bite was really delicious. The food was fresh and the owner and chef checked multiple times to see that all was ok. Highly recommend this casual restaurant if you want to get away from the tourist area for a bit. We were also offered some complimentary baklava, which was also yum.Embarrassed to say that even after all that great food, we couldn't resist going across the street for a taste of the Chocolat Favoris ice cream. Good thing we had the long walk back to work off some of that delicious meal.
We are happy we decided to explore outside of the old town to dine at this restaurant.
After indulging in the delicious but heavy food of Quebec City for a week, we were in search of something lighter and found it at Bachir! Our children
