Would like to visit again and again till the time we are in Quebec
We went to eat with 3 urban life coupons at $35 for two for a 4 services on Friday evening...Wow... everything was good .the waitress a young woman... we advised to take each of the different dishes and share each dish... Entrance papadam slim crunchy and slightly spicy bread served with a small coconut cream saucier and another of various legumes in sauce and the other car. 2nd service two beautiful onion balls with panted chickpeas wow super good nothing to do with French onions or falafels....super good and tasteful...servi with a piece of sheek kabab small roll of spicy and sweet minced meat with a salad of cabbage and legumes....or a mulligatany soup kind of pea soup but good health with 3rd main flat service everything was good....the excellent cari salmon .l tender cari lamb. .I don't understand the switches.... the dupiaza beef and the shashlick chicken (red) were very good.... accompaniment vegetables... a very good colored rice of red spice. naan bread accompaniment...and a good sweet dessert sprinkle with coconut...I'm really filled and I haven't paid to make them an ad and it's not my friends....So don't listen to the bad comments and enjoy this abundance.
Simple decor restaurant located in a basement. service is very attentive despite the language barrier. I enjoyed dall soup, bajhee vegetables and rice that were all well scented. The naan bread was good but I prefer it without carvi seeds...Good value for money. Especially that it's a bring your wine.
I have eaten in a number of Indian restaurants but would not call myself an expert on Indian food. But I do know what tastes good and what does not. This food did not!We ordered a 3 course meal for 3 with appetisers (tasted like the frozen Indian food you buy in a grocery store), main of butter chicken (no spice and very sweet), lamb (like lamb stew)and curried vegetables (very bland)Even the dessert was bad.The Nan bread was actually pretty goodAs for the service, two girls, unprofessional, untrained and uninterested.Would not recommend this restaurant.
We had a amazing 2016 Christmas holidays in Quebec city, very friendly and warm people. However my expreince at Epices De L'Inde was really horrible. We were initially thrilled and happy to see a Indian resturant with positive reviews in google but it just lasted only few hours. This resturant is located in a upscale location which has lots of Pubs, Italian and French resturants. This Indian resturants operates from a tiny base location with 18-20 odd seating capacity.Since the restaurant was very small we decided for a take away as our hotel was very closeby (700 meters) We ordered a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes along with Veg Biriyani and Butter naan. None of the food had any taste or aroma of spices which most of Indian food would have. The Malai Kofta was so bad and lacked consistency and texture in the gravy. Their Chicken curry was nothing but spicy water with cubes of uncooked chicken - again the texture of the gravy was very bad. The most disappointing was the Biryani with no taste and no smell of basmati. We ordered for butter naan however we were given Tandoori naan. When I called the chef (Think his name is Ahmed, if I’m not wrong) to complain about the food, he said since the kitchen was busy there may be some mistakes but argued that their food is one of the best in the Quebec City. Moreover he said for the cold weather tandoori naan is recommended as butter naan would get hard and he decided to change the menu without informing me . He said we must be happy that we are getting Indian food in Quebec City as there are only few restaurants. Living in GTA and eating Indian food for decades, this is the most horrible food we have ever tasted. I have traveled to many countries and tasted Indian food prepared by other South Asian, European and North American chefs which were so tasty but this restaurant's is atrocious. At the end the chef invited me for another dinner as he wanted to correct his mistakes and I politely did not accept it as I did not want to ruin my holidays. If you ever want to have Indian food kindly try other places and update so we can also explore. Last but not the least, if you want to know how bad Indian food could taste you should try this restaurant
