Le Hobbit - Québec

Food was amazing! Had to try the Elk Flank Steak since I've never had Elk before and it seems to be a favorite It didn't disappoint.

Went on a small vacation to Quebec last month with my husband and we stopped into this lovely restaurant for dinnerHad an amazing time.

My family(husband and 3 teen girls) and I went for Sunday brunch. The restaurant is on a corner and easy to find. It has two dining sections, outside seatings for couples, and a bar area. The decor is modern but cozy. The waitstaff were in good spirit, not overly friendly but not rude either. They all spoke English and French. We heard some singing in the kitchen:)We all ordered different brunch/breakfast and all enjoyed them. (Basic bkfst of eggs, sausage ham, toast, smoothie; eggs Benedict; eggs Benedict florentine; bagel plate; French toast). They all came with good coffee or standard juice. Each dish was presented simple and gourmet like and were tasteful. The bill was $100 including 5% Can tax and 10% Quebec tax. You pay at the counter, if by cc, as you leave while the waitstaff is watching you tip them. I would return for food and the ambience.

We didn't reserve in advance, still we were accepted VERY nicely (Friday night). Food- no usual, interesting, tasty and really good! Service- cool very responsive and nice! A great place to have dinner!

Went for dinner while visiting Quebec City, I noticed a lot of playing among the employees, but there is nothing wrong with that until you notice that this involved a lot of things that should not happen in a restaurant: dropping things, touching their hair, and then touching all the items needed at the table. The worst happened when we were seated, I was able to notice the activity in the kitchen. The cook will touch his face, put food in his mouth (this mean your fingers could have contact with saliva) and then seeing him touching people's food. This ruined my experience so much that I refused to eat at the place because this is one of the parts we enjoy the most when we travel, choosing high rated restaurants so we don't end up with disappointments. However this is one of the worst things I have seen in a restaurant. To me they deserve a zero. This is the 3rd review I've written in my whole life to show how much this affected me.
