They also had beautiful artwork for sale on display. My partner and I had a wonderful afternoon here and would highly recommend it to friends and family.
We visited on a clear winter day with a promotion and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The standout dishes were the John Dory and the Chardonnay. The starters of olives and toast would have been enhanced with some balsamic and olive oil on the side. The garlic bread could have had more flavor, but the fish was excellently cooked with great flavor. The service was good and the restaurant is situated in a beautiful spot. The rustic atmosphere out the back adds to the charm of the place.
The restaurant appears tired and could benefit from a major renovation. The staff are very friendly but lack experience. The portions of the $49 set menu were small. The tiramisu glass in the picture was only half full, and the salad was only enough for four bites. The food quality is decent, freshly made, and comparable to other restaurants in the Manly area. There is a limited selection of Australian wines, nothing particularly remarkable or memorable.
This restaurant needs a total makeover. The food and prices were fine (portions are on the small side) but seriously spend some money on the exterior and interior to make your customers feel special. Repaint inside and out, lget some stylish signage made, pay for some white tablecloths on the tables (especially in the evenings), have someone to greet you when you enter the front door and make you feel welcome. Employ some local Aussie waitressing staff, offer diners another drink rather than wait to be asked, explain the menu and try to decide on a theme for the restaurant style and carry it through all the rooms. I really wanted to love this place but it is so underwhelming it is sad.
Very over-priced for the quality & quantity of food.My main course was called a "laksa" all it entailed wasCoconut milk with a lemon grass stalk & kaffir lime leaf still remaining in the liquid plus 6 wontons filled with small amountof beef cheek.....what happened to the vegetables!Dessert ordered was a "special" pancakes filled with banana& condensed milk, drizzled with a sauce over the plate, no cream or ice cream and only a parfait spoon to use!So expensive...will not go again.Saving grace was the lovely Canadian waitress
