Beautiful setting inside or outside, with views overlooking the beach really elevated the experience. The views on a sunny day was definitely the highlight! Great atmosphere! Even though we went well after the lunch period, the meals were tasty and all staff friendly. Would love to venture back in the Winter and dine by the big, indoor fireplace at the back!
Highly recommend a getaway here. Only stayed for the night but the experience we had with the staff was A+ and they went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. Dinner was cozy near the fire, they were definitely busy but I can see why with the nice atmosphere (inside out! and wood fired pizzas. Cutest stay in Portsea right by the water and national park. Thanks Portsea! Well be back for summer.
The staff were amazing, they go above and beyond to ensure you have an enjoyable time. The guy who seems like he runs the place is the best, so helpful, considerate and just a genuinely lovely person. The food was delicious, views are amazing and really is a beautiful part of Victoria. I am only giving 4 stars as the older guy on security was terrible. A real shame as that was the only part of my experience at the pub that was a let down
Beautiful vibe and atmosphere. Perfect for families. We snagged the best outdoor table, and enjoyed the view and the people going for a swim. We went for Sunday lunch. Best to go just before noon cause it gets quite busy after, and you may have to wait in line.
Great historic hotel with some of the the best views in town! The Portsea Hotel is a terrific place to have a drink, relax and watch the world go by. You can't beat having a drink in the outdoor dining area (beer garden and looking out to the pier and the surrounding sea on a beautiful sunny day. There's plenty of dining options inside too. Also a cosy fireside option in the cooler months. This hotel has been renovated, grown and changed over the years but much of the original charm remains. The garden is better than most you would find in a pub. I really like the way that the hotel gardens merge almost seamlessly with the beach at the back. Just down a few steps and you are on the beach. Always worth a visit :
