This is my 2nd visit and we ordered Tom Yum Goong (which I have been craving for and the reason I went back), Crispy Cat Fish Salad, Fried Tilapia with Tamarind Sauce, and Thai Fried Rice. The ambiance was simple and service okay but whatever is lacking the food makes up for it. The food tastes great and the price is pretty cheap. All of the things we ordered cost us around 700.++. Not bad for 3 pax.
Pretty good. We ordered Pad Thai, Crispy Catfish Salad, Fresh Spring Rolls, Tom Yum Goong & Fried Tilapia (not on the picture tho.) And some Tamarind & Thai Milk Tea for our drinks. For the desserts, we had Sticky Rice w/ Mango and Ta Ko. (Also not in the picture) Pad Thai: 3.5 / 5 Crispy Catfish: 3.5 / 5 (I thought it was all bread crumbs and then the fish was underneath. I WAS WRONG. The bread-crumbs-looking are the catfish! Hehe) Fresh Spring Rolls: 2 / 5 (Its not the usual Spring Rolls. It has bell peppers in it so... I still prefer the usual vermicelli rice noodles, cilantro, carrots and shrimp) Tom Yum Goong: 4.5 / 5 (MY FAVORITE!) Fried Tilapia: 3.5 / 5 Thai Milk Tea: 2.5 / 5 (It was too sweet I had do add water.) Sticky Rice w/ Mango: 4 / 5 *wasn't able to try Tamarind & Ta Ko. Service: 2.5 / 5 (They can use some smiling.) Budget: 250-300 per person If I'm on a budget and craving for some Thai food, would go back here. ????????????
I love their pad thai, it taste pretty authentic, -not too sweet, not oily just a right amount of everything. The ingredients such as shrimps, tofu, chicken were generous. Noodles is not overcooked not thick unlike dish I've tried. Price is also reasonable for its serving. If you're searching for a thai dish try this resto.
Passed by Malingap Street looking for a dinner spot, and I got curious to try Happy Thai hoping it would satisfy my Thai food cravings (I usually love Thai food ;)). - I ordered the following dishes - Tom Yum Goong - mild: The flavor was good but I found the laman lacking. There was one big shrimp & two small ones. Other than tomatoes the rest of the veggies inside were mostly spices ie ginger, leeks, etc. Ok as a starter, but not as ulam. It will not fill you up at all. Spring Rolls - fried: I was disappointed to find that there was no meat in the fried spring rolls. I had consulted with the waiter to ask what dish would go with the Tom Yum. He could have warned me that the spring rolls were all veggie.. especially knowing I was pairing it with just the Tom Yum. I could only bring myself to eat a couple of pieces. Tamarind juice - a bit on the sweet side. I was already very hungry coming into the restaurant, and it then took them 35 minutes to come out with my first order. Again would have been nice for the waiter to inform that the orders would take that long. Server did listen to my feedback and apologized for the delay. But overall I didn't enjoy my meal here - I don't know if I just made the wrong orders but was definitely bitin. Servers are nice, but need better training re the menu and managing of customer expectations.
