Server claims that an order of ramen is good for 1-2 people. Yeah right ???? I wanted to share my order but it only had one slice of chasu. Ramen priced from P220 to 300+. Is that why we even don't get a placemat or real utensils? Plastic ramen spoons? Really now!
If you're craving for ramen/Japanese food, save yourself and don't even consider going to this place. Ramen costs 220 to 300 pesos and with that price, you could atleast expect a decent ramen. But no, ramen lacks flavour in all components - soup base, ramen texture and choice of pork cut. On the menu it says they have variety of broth but seems like it's just 1 broth for all. The gyoza is just ok, nothing extra ordinary. The staff are auto pilot friendly and bau so no complains on the service in general. All in all this place is not value for your money and not a go to place for Japanese food craving.
Small place but they serve good food. On the day that we went here, the only available things on their menu were the various ramen. I got the Gegikara because I was craving for something spicy. First, the serving size was huge. Second, it's filled with vegetables so you might get full easily. It wasn't as spicy as I expected but I'm cool with that. They have chili powder on the tables for that. Most of my companions got the Shio Ramen and they super loved the chasu. My order did not include it so I couldn't comment but I would take their word for it. Price was super affordable too.
We were a first-time diner of Nihonjin when we chose this place over the other food joints at Maginhawa strip. From outside, the place says Japanese - and it was inviting! We were famished by the time we got there and were expecting really good, comforting food. I ordered my japanese dinner staple: Katsudon and my husband decided to try their Ramen. My katsudon dish was cooked well. The pork cutlet was thick but the dish was dry. The taste was also lacking. So I asked for a tempura sauce to remedy the dryness of my dinner. I thought I tasted Kikoman sauce when they served the tempura sauce- because it was very salty, dark in color and was not a tempura sauce to me. I had to ask their crew again for tempura sauce- and she said that was indeed their tempura sauce. My husband's ramen came in a good serving size - but we sensed a lot extenders from the dish. It was all noodles and vegetables. It also lacked the richness in its soup - that you typically look for when served with ramen. Our dining experience was disappointing. Although the service was okay, the food really was a let-down. I think, they have to improve and work on their recipes. Sorry but we will not go back here :(
