Cubanu Lounge - Rahway

On Wednesday night it was perfect. it was not full and the service was great. the bistec de pollo is my whole time favorites!

Firstly this is not the first time I’ve come here with a big group, but this was the most horrible service/food we’ve ever had here. From waiting almost 45 mins for drinks (all sodas) they were all flat and horrible taste. Then it took the waitress almost 35 to come back for us to place our orders. We understand that a group of 20 might be a lot for any restaurant so we come with patience and calmness. While we wait for almost another 40 mins for our food it was absolutely HORRIBLE. The rice was from the bottom of the pot and SUPER cold. The food had no type of flavor or seasoning. As the night couldn’t get any worse. The waitress absolutely forgot my meal in which she said it was my FAULT because we mixed orders which was not accurate at all. Once of course we got the bill it was about $800 for cold no seasoning food and again no alcohol involved which I thought was insane as 4 ppl didn’t even eat meals. I will say I’m completely disappointed and will never return back after coming here a few times with big groups. It’s not about the money but quality of what you’re paying for.

Our waiter was kind and professional however the water they provided tasted like pool water with a lemon in it and the empanadas were greasy/watery definitely not seasoned traditionally. The oil they fried the empanadas in had an old oil aftertaste. Down to the sauces they provided, everything we ate here was underwhelming, unfortunately. I really wanted to enjoy this place.

Food was over priced and not very good. Cuban sandwiches were dry and not very flavorful and empanadas tasted like grease. Very disappointed.

It took 53 minutes to get our food out. We asked for the check because we wanted to leave and they didn’t bring the check. I asked to speak to a manager , they brought the food out and it looked like it was sitting in the heat lamp for a long time. So dissatisfied , still didn’t get to speak to a manager. Do no recommend this place at all. The music and taste of food is good but after this experience I’m never coming back.
