Stopped in at the Coyote Grill for a burger and fries during a bike ride up Highway 22 between Cochrane and Sundre. (Note the Trip Advisor listing shows location as Glacier National Park -that's incorrect). Good burger, fast service. Their menu is huge and portion sizes massive. The building also includes s liquor store, and I think some hotel rooms upstairs. Nice patio, clean bathrooms, definitely a good stop.
We tried this restaurant for the first time and with high hopes. It was very nice inside as far as cleanliness goes and the staff were pleasant. But there was a mix up on drinks, then the drinks we got tasted horrible. Stuck with water. The meal was ok. Hubby asked for one type of pie for dessert with icecream. They brought a different type. Took it back and brought the correct pie but no icecream and the pie was stone cold just out of the fridge. We thought that blueberry pie should be heated. We are not totally discouraged - that would take alot. We will be back to try something else. The people across from us had some great looking steaks.Oh... and the menu was great.... many choices.
If you are travelling between Cochrane and Sundre and feel a tad peckish, this is a really good restaurant located inside the Cremona Hotel. The food is excellent and not what one would expect in a small town hotel/bar. Everything on the menu is first class.
We first discovered the Coyote Grill on a days outing with a friend from Victoria BC and enjoyed our meal so much we decided to return there on a more recent road trip. The Coyote Grill is less than 100 km. from Calgary. My wife enjoyed a more than adequate bowl of beef soup followed be a Chefs salad. This was a large bowl filled with various types of garden greens, julienne carrots and beets, topped with real turkey breast, ham and a hard boiled egg. I enjoyed the coyote burger, a 6 ounce beef burger with tomatoes, pickles, lettuce and cheese. It was accompanied by a large serving of fries. The piece de resistance was a huge portion of apple berry pie finished with a crumble topping and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The service was friendly without being overbearing, and prompt. We will certainly dine at Coyote again, perhaps next time for dinner.
